Flax Seeds, a superfood, containing Omega-3 fatty acids, are rich in antioxidants, B-vitamins, dietary fibre and phytoestrogens; all of which may help to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, strokes, and diabetes. You can roast, toast or grind these little nutritional seeds and sprinkle them whole over cereal, salads or add them to your granola for a serious health boost. We pack ours in resalable, brown paper ziplock bags for freshness. Flax, “The Most Useful”, is a good source of omega-3, fibre & lignans. Flax seeds can be added whole or ground to breakfast cereals, porridge, muesli bars, buns, cakes, and shakes, for their super-nutritional content.

Flaxseed Porridge

INGREDIENTS
30gm (3 T.) Flaxseed - plain or roasted (roasted tastes more nutty-like) 120gm (1/2 c.) Coconut Milk - unsweetened 18gm (2 1/2 tsp.) Butter 10gm (2 tsp.) Grapeseed Oil 30gm (2 T.) Blueberries, wild frozen 0.3gm (1/8 tsp) Cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
1.Combine flaxseed and coconut milk in a microwave-safe bowl that will hold at least 2 cups of liquid. Cook for 30-45 seconds or just until mixture rises. Remove from microwave and allow to cool for a minute.
2.Add oil, butter, cinnamon and blueberries. Stir to coat blueberries (this will defrost then quickly). Over-stirring will make porridge gummy.
3.Note: Can be made in a small pan on the stove. Remove from heat when mixture starts to boil.
